Blue is a female kitten. I was walking my dog down a busy street and she pulled Blue out of the bushes. I took her home, cleaned her up and took her to the vet. She was not well enough to get her vaccines yet because she was very thin and weak. She is doing much better now and should be ready to start vaccines in a few more weeks. She was treated for fleas and worms, also tested for all the diseases. She tested positive for feline coronavirus- FCoV. It is a common virus in cats 50-90% of domestic and wild cats have it. She could develop FIP depending on how her body handles it. The FIP risk is about 5%. She should live in a single cat household. Dogs are not affected by this virus. Otherwise she is happy, healthy and full of spunk! She plays, eats, sleeps and then repeats all day long. She has no signs of illness. Perfect poops and a healthy appetite.
